Itinerary

Today we’ll have a guided tour of Marrakech. You'll explore the main attractions and monuments of the city including the world famous Jemma el Fna square, 800 year old Koutoubia mosque, the souks, palaces, and museums. We’ll also explore parts of the city such as French Colonial Gueliz, and the Menara Gardens. Another highlight is the Majorelle Gardens, house and museum. Owned until his death and then preserved, Yves Saint Laurent lived here and escaped the pressures of the world. After lunch at a local restaurant, you’ll get the chance to explore this incredibly vibrant city at your leisure.

Today your tour kicks off as we drive through the Atlas Mountains and snake through the Tizi-n-Tichka pass to the Unesco World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou. Famous on the big screen for movies like the Gladiator and the famous HBO series, Game of Thrones, we continue to Ouarzazate to visit the Atlas Film Studios and a Kasbah located in the city. We’ll continue our tour towards the Valley of 1001 Kasbahs, also famous for its annual Rose Festival before we drive to the Dades Gorge and spend the night in our hotel/Riad.

Here, we’ll continue our tour to visit Todra Gorge, a colorful, awe inspiring narrow canyon. We’ll continue through the Ziz Valley to reach Erfoud, an oasis town known as the gate to the Sahara desert and recognized for its unique fossils. There we can visit a local factory which produces artisanal, hand crafted house decor made from fossils. There is also a local shop where you may purchase such items as souvenirs if you wish.
Then, we’ll drive towards Rissani, where we’ll visit the local souk and then drive towards the edge of the desert to reach Merzouga. On arrival there is time to prepare yourself at a guest house ready for our camel ride into the desert dunes. Accompanied by experienced camel caravan guides we arrive at the Merzouga Desert Camp where we’ll stay overnight in luxurious, en suite tents. This spectacular night will be rendered unforgettable with a unique and traditional Berber dinner topped off by tribal music around a starlit desert campfire.

For early risers the sunrise over the dunes is unique. The rest of the day will be spent exploring the Merzouga desert with a chance to “do your own thing” such as camel trekking or exploring via the comfort of a 4×4. We’ll also visit the Khamlia village famous for its traditional Gnawa music. Early riser or not, you simply can’t miss the opportunity of appreciating the sunset behind the dunes of the bewildering Sahara desert. Our night will be at Small Riad/ hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll drive past Rissani and Erfoud stopping in Midelt in the Atlas Mountains for lunch. Now halfway to Fez, you can explore Midelt at your own pace, chill out or retire to the local hotel where you’ll spend the night.

Today we’ll further explore Midelt and then we drive to Azrou, where we’ll stop to explore a forest resort and, hopefully, see and feed the wild monkeys that inhabit it. We’ll then continue to Ifrane and then Fes, where we’ll stay overnight at a local hotel/riad.

Today we’ll explore the oldest city in Morocco and enjoy walking through its alleys and narrow streets. Sightseeing includes the Royal Palace Gate and Jewish quarter visit. Other cultural and historic sites include the Al Qaraouine University, the Tanneries, and Moulay Idriss Mausoleum. You can spend the afternoon exploring the fascinating medina before having dinner at a local restaurant of your choice. We’ll spend the night in Fes in your pre-booked local riad/hotel.

Today we drive from Fes to Chefchaouen, located in the Rif Mountains. There is plenty of free time if you wish to discover Chefchaouen’s medina before spending the night at your local riad/hotel.

After breakfast and a a couple of hours in the Blue Pearl (Chefchaouen) we’ll drive to Rabat, Morocco’s capital, to explore its main sights and attractions. There, you may choose to have lunch before continuing to the largest city in Morocco, Casablanca, where we’ll spend the night.

Today we’ll visit the main attractions and monuments in Casablanca including the Hassan II Mosque which, unusually, can be entered by non-Muslims and has a capacity of over 25,000 inside. Then, after your chosen lunch at a local restaurant, we have a leisurely drive back to Marrakesh where our tour, sadly, comes to an end.
